Many of the fine lines are missing as well as the value and the words "Postes aérienne". Inscribed in pencil "1e état Poste aérienne by the engraver. Aristeus was the son of Apollo and the nymph Kyrene. According to legend, he arrived on the Greek island of Kea to save the inhabitants from a drought, and taught them bee-keeping, cattle-raising and other forms of agriculture.
